Personal Development - Beyond the Court
Colorado Premier Basketball Club believes that the life lessons learned through participating in youth sports are more important than any of the basketball skills we teach. Through involvement in charitable activities, personal development seminars and mental skills activities, we seek to help develop our players into well-rounded, resilient, caring and successful adults. Below are several of the activities that our players participate in.
COLLEGE RECRUITING ASSISTANCE - Premier assists our U14-U18 Premier Academy Team players with finding the right academic, social and athletic fit for their college experience.
PROJECT SOLE - Premier players collected nearly 3,000 used athletic shoes in the last year for Project Sole, a non-profit organization that provides shoes to poor communities in need around the world.
POSITIVE COACHING ALLIANCE PLAYER SEMINARS - Each year our Premier players participate in Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) seminars that teach them about teamwork, sportsmanship and leadership. Our Executive Director, Keith Van Horn is on the PCA National Advisory Board.
SPECIAL OLYMPICS - Each winter, Premier Academy players participate in the Premier Special Olympics Showcase, a game that mixes our Premier Academy players with Special Olympics basketball players for a fun filled game!
OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD - During the holiday season, Premier Academy teams get together and create shoeboxes full of gifts for underprivileged children around the world. Operation Christmas Child has brought these shoeboxes to millions of children in need.
