Mullen Captures 4A Girls Title with the Help of 8 Premier Players

The 4A Girls State title game on Saturday, March 9th between Mullen High School and Pueblo South High School featured eight (8) Colorado Premier Basketball Club players; Imani and Illiana Perez, Haley Van Horn, Megan Pohs, Gracie Gallegos, Alexa Dominguez, Abby Webster and Jessica Oates-Stamm. Ironically, these eight players all competed for the same program. Mullen High School.

In their road to the state title game, Mullen High School (#14 seed), starting 2 Freshman and 3 Sophomores, beat #3 Pueblo West (Sweet 16), #6 Montrose (Elite 8), and #2 Holy Family in the Final 4 with each game featuring strong performances from Premier players.

Perhaps one of the biggest performances in the playoffs came from Premier player Abby Webster in the state title game. Coming off of the bench early in the third quarter, Webster hit  two big three-point shots within a couple of minutes of checking in to give Mullen the momentum they needed the rest of the game to seal the victory. Mullen went 8 of 12 in the second half from the 3 point line after Webster’s boost off of the bench.

Here are some notable stat lines from Premier players in the Mullen championship game victory:

  • Iliana Perez (Senior) – 17 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal – In the state title game, Iliana Perez scored 15 of her 17 points in the 2nd half to end her high school career. We are incredibly proud of you Illy!
